Blue Ridge Blue & Gray

Blue Ridge Blue & Gray is a play about the Civil War in northwestern North Carolina. Written as historical fiction, the story centers on the Reverend Levi Norris, an itinerate Methodist minister who serves as a chaplain at Camp Mast, an actual training facility for Watauga and Ashe County Home guards. Reverend Norris is torn between loyalty to his friends and congregants and loyalty to his calling and conscience. Blue Ridge Blue & Gray was first performed on December 3rd, 1998 at Farthing Auditorium on the campus of Appalachian State University.
